(U)Cn 21 February 1991, @RAGO 8-91 was issued. The TF mission
was to attack NLT 240530C February 1991, to clear In zone and
secure BP 32 to facilitate offensive operations. The TF Scouts
crossed the Line of Departure (LD) 240502CFEB 91 to establish a
screen line approximately 3 lm forward of the main body. The
scouts mission was to identify enemy locations an@disposition to
prevent the main body from moving into a danger ar@ At 240538C
FEB 91, TM Delta, a tank heavy team crossed the LD. TM D was-the
advanced guard moving approximately 2 lm behind the security
-force to destroy enemy forces and prevent the enemy from placing
direct +ire on the main body. TM D was -Followed by TM A, another
tank heavy team. TM A's mission was to maintain visual contact
with the eastern flank unit from Tr 3-37, to ensure the TF
maintained alignment and to de=troy enemy forces being fixed by
TM D. TM B, a mechanized heavy team, crossed next with the
mission to maintain visual contact with the western -Flanl, unit
from TF 4-37 AR, to assure the TF maintained alignment and to
destroy enemy forced fixed by TM D. TM C. another mechanized
heavy team, crossed the LD with the mission of being the TF
reserve and to be prepared to follow and.i3Ltpport TM D or TM B in
the destruction of enemy forcl-sl I mechanized platoon from TM C
acted as the rear guard +or the TF. Co E( crossed the LD behind
TM D with the mission to.destray enemy forces attempting to move
to TM D's flank. (TAB D)
The TF attacked in a diamond formation approximately 51,m in
)dth and 10 I,,m in depth. Initial movement was slow to allow each
unit to pass through the narrow lanes at the berm. At 0645 all
the combat elements had cleared the berm and were moving in .
formation towards PL Kansas. As the TF moved north sightings of
enemy personnel and vehicles beg@n to flood the command
frequency. There were no dfrect fire engagements, however
indirect fire was called in and numerous enemy soldiers began.

platoon from TM A. At this point, the TF had moved much faster
than anticipated. TM A and TM D passed through the TF Scouts and
moved into position along PL Plum. The remainder of the TF was
stopped on a 'dmall crest overlooking the southern trenchlinv at
PL Birch. The initial advance planned for 24 February was
complete. At approximately @4liSo.' the 127 man remnant of the
