teams in the MP units could do it; Fox recon vehicles would be up
with the combat units. CPT Goudreau responded there would be too
many places in too big an area for their chemical people to do it.
This impasse was later broken by the MP Bde S-3 who said they would
           do it.

           20 FEB 91:

                a. LTC Adams, CHEMO, 3AD, called to ask if Corps would
establish a minimum MOPP level. Ile was told that per the G-3 the
CG was leaning toward MOPP-1 for all who cross the LD. LTC Adams
asked that we try to get the CG to go with MOPP level 0 and let the
divisions look at the threat and mission to determine when and
           where units should modify MOPP.

                b. Surveyed 2ACR, 3AD and 1ID(M) to find out their method of
           narking/avoiding contamination -

                          and Fox Red chem-lite only

Chemical Officers of these three units were to meet the next day
with MAJ McNamara, Corps Chem. They would decide on a common
method and then the TAC would publish the method in the FRAGO as
           the Corps standard.

                c. LTC Lombardi called with info that 3AD tried unsuccessfully
to pickup HTTI because all available was frozen. MAJ McNamara said
the total required for the maneuver elements was: 3AD-245 drums,
IAD-80 drums, and 2ACR, 1CD and IID wanted 0. LTC Lombardi got
800th MMC to release the 1150 drums of HTH they had and MAJ
McNamara was notifying the units to go get it. As a side note, no
           one had requested any DS2.

                d. CPT Flagg, G-2, reported that even though there are many
EPW reports of a chemical RPG round, there is no hard proof that
any such rounds exists. They continued to monitor.
