                                                     IED

released to duty. Bunker located QUO53072.

                C. Reference confirmed chemical casualty. Later in the day
3AD chemical personnel changed their report of agents detected on
the casualty's clothing and kevlar vest. They now report the Nomex
suit as having a weak reading of Lewisite - no CX. And, they now
say the flak vest had a strong reading of HQ (Sesqui Mustard and
            Sulfur Mustard.)

                d. Fox vehicle belonging to 69th Chem Co was damaged when it
rolled over a landmine on I Mar. The torque suspension was bent
            and 2 wheels flattened.

                e. NBC - 4 Report submitted by 3AD:
                     Alpha - S13001
Hotel - Blister, Traces of HD and liT
                     Quebec - QUO50072
                     Sierra - 030915L
LTC Adams, CHEMO, 3AD stated they did a chemical recon
over a 7 by 10 kilometer area. Blister traces were only found in
what looked to be a command bunker at QUO50072.

                f. Message from CENTCOM CINC stated that the Iraqis claim
there were no chen/bio weapons in Kuwait. CINC did not want us to
make a big deal out of one soldier suffering chemical agent burns.
Don't deny the report to the press.

            4 MAR 91:

                a. Corps FRAGO included instructions on how to enter bunkers to
check for chemical munitions. That is, enter in MOPP-2 (with
gloves) with M9 paper attached to the arm and legs.

                b. LTC Adams, 3AD asked permission to release lst Platoon, 172
Chen Co back to their parent unit. Called Corps TAC and
recommended today's FRAGO release the platoon back to the 172d.

                c. 7th Engineer Bde reported some of their clearing teams had
hich they believe to be chemical
rounds. They had a red diagonal stripe on each projectile and a
