      05 Feb 91: The Battalion receives replacement troops from the 10th Engineer
      Battalion. The replacements consisted of an officer (2LT Craig Adams) and
      18 soldiers. 2LT Adams is assigned platoon leader, 2nd platoon, Alpha
      Company. 2ACR holds Comnanders' meeting.

      06 Feb 91: HHC practices crogg country movement in day/night time
      conditions.



      07 Feb 91: CSM holds first promotion board since deployment from Bamberg.
      Training continues as B Company conducts demo range.

      08-12 Feb 91: Companies within the Battalion begin planning, training and
      rehearsing assault breaches. A Company's focus is clearing lanes with
      dismounted sappers and integrating the Mg ACE, M728 CEV, M48 AVLM, mine
      plow, and rollers of the Squadron. OR rate at 88%; parts still impossible
      to get. All vehicles marked with inverted V and orange material on hoods.


      10 Feb 91: 2ACR conducts briefback on operations. lLT Kennedy's HMMWV is
      stolen with AT-4s, and their A & B bags. Battalion gets seven more Lorans,
      three more tomorrow.


      11 Feb 91: Enemy drone flew over 2ACR positions and was shot down; fly boys
      do not like the idea of us shooting aircraft down over friendly territory.
      10 out of 11 MILVANs are now under our control.

      12 Feb 91: The Battalion receives warning order to be prepared to execute
      the OPORD for ground attack on 24 hour notice. Soldiers receive second
      series of inoculations. Battalion receives its botulism shot today.
      Commander visits 7th Engineer Brigade. Phones are put off limits for OPSEC
      reasons. Rations are A-C-T.


      13 Feb 91: The Battalion is given an order to move from the current
      assembly area to Assembly Area Kennedy vicinity Phase Line Lion. At 1130
      hours, the Battalion Commander conducts a walk through breach of the berm.
      Attendees are the sappers from the line companies, D7 and ACE operators,
      heavy equipment operators who would improve the lanes, and appropriate
      command and control elements. 2ACR Commanders' meeting is held at 1800.


      14 Feb 91: The Battalion moves to Forward Assembly Area Kennedy, at (NS
      508393). The Battalion prepares to recon forward area (AA Johnson vic PL
      Hyena). The Battalion is notified that today is G-7, but that is still an
      unreliable time line.



      15 Feb 91: There is a full scale dress rehearsal of assault breaches with
      2ACR. A and D Company are under the control of the Battalion XO, and B and
      C Company are under the control of the Battalion Commander. Again, 2ACR
      holds Commanders' meeting.


      16 Feb 91: At 0537, the Battalion executes FRAGO and jumps north. It closes
      at 1320 at AA Johnson(NT280030). At 1100, Commander attends Brigade meeting
      and at 1700 a 2ACR meeting.


      17 Feb 91: 2ACR holds Commander's meeting at 1500. Times and Pocations of
      daily meetings are random to avoid enemy targeting. Five M916s deadlined
      from move.
