(5) Supervision of insect control.
(6) Supervision of rodent control.
(7) Prevention of cold or heat injury.

b. Command Health Report: Prepared by the Surgeon or
medical officer providing unit medical service and forwarded
through command channels for each unit (AR 40-5).
C. Sanitation (FM 21-10):
(1) Unit Commanders are responsible for enforcing
sanitation procedures within their area.
(2) Drinking water:
(a) All water for drinking or cooking will be drawn
from water supply point (WSP) and re-chlorinated to insure a
minimum free available chlorine residual of 2 to 4 parts per
million after 30 minutes have elapsed.
(b) If Potable water is not available from the
engineer WSP, the best available water will be treated by one of
the following methods as directed on the container.
1. For canteens: water purification tablets,
individual iodine (FSN 6850-270-2620), and calcium hypochloride
ampules.
(a) Potable water may be produced.by
adding I iodine tablet per canteen of clear water and 2 iodine
tablets per canteen of cloudy or cold water.
(b) Potable water may be produced by
adding 1 calcium hypochloride ampule to I canteen of water.
1. Fill a canteen with the
solution and add this to each canteen of water to disinfected;
then mix thoroughly.
2. Allow water to stand at least
30 minutes before drinking.
2. Lister bags: Water purification powder,
chlorine, ampule (FSN 6850-250-2620), 1 to 3 ampules for clear
water and 4 to 6 ampules for cloudy or cold water.
