          3.(U) KEYWORDS: Immunization/Prophylaxis

          4.(U) Title: Anthrax Vaccine

          5.(U) Observation: The initial distribution and administration of
          the anthrax vaccine was chaotic and disorganized.

          6.(U) Discussion: The initial distribution and administration of
          the anthrax vaccine was very chaotic. There were no instructions
          issued to units, and most units were given little or no notice on
          when they were to receive the vaccines. However the situation was
          mitigated since ARCENT did provide mobile vaccination teams to do
          the initial doses. Had the ARCENT Medical Staff provided timely
          information on the vaccine program, a lot of the chaos would have
          been averted.

          7.(U) Lesson Learned: None.

          8.(U) Recommended Action: In the future, the Army needs to ensure
          that information pertaining to the health and welfare of soldiers
          be provided in a timely manner.
