        3.(TJ) KEYWORD: Decontamination

        4.(U) Title: Decontamination Master Plan

5.(U) Observation: The XVIII Airborne Corps Decon Plan was
instrumental in forcing units to develop a realistic/workable
        plan.

6.(U) Discussion: In preparation for Operation Desert
Shield/Storm the XVIII Airborne Corps tasked all its subordinate
units to develop a plan for performing decontamination operations.
Units were asked to list equipment on hand and any additional
support needed to conduct hasty or deliberate decontamination in
their AO. The unit chemical officers were forced to do detailed
mission analysis. This lead them to develop a better understanding
of their units, mission. They were also able to identify and
address decon deficiencies early in the planning process.

        7.(U) Lessons Learned: None.
8.(U) Recommended Action: Incorporate decon master plan into all
        contingency plans.
