                4.(U) Title: NBC Refresher Course

                5.(U) Observation: During the initial phases of operation Desert
                Shield it was observed that there was no standardized operating
                procedures for the many units assigned/attached to the
                brigade.This was due to the fact that many of the units were not
                initially missioned to the South Western Asia theater of
                operation.

                6.(U) Discussion: In an effort to standardize procedures across
                the brigade a lesson plan was drawn up covering the following
                subject areas: a) Desert decon procedures, b) Theater NBC threat,
                c) NBC hardening of SCUD bunkers, and d) common tasks from the
                soldiers manual. The brigade NBC cell traveled to each battery
                sized unit and presented classes. The procedures were also drawn
                up in a SOP.

                7.(U) Lessons Learned: Units that train under different
                contingency plans must have a common SOP if they are to operate
                effectively together.
