      3.(U) KEYWORDS: NBC Supply

      4.(U) Title: Individual NBC Protective Equipment Size Tariff

      5.(U) Observation: Many units reported 100% Chemical Defense
      Equipment on hand, however when the time came to issue equipment
      to assigned personnel, several could not be fitted.

      6.(U) Discussion: All units reflected 100% Chemical Defense
      Equipment on hand during monthly inspections of Battalion NBC
      rooms. However, when the brigade was alerted for Operation Desert
      Shield, many of the soldiers assigned were unable to get proper
      fitting CDE because the equipment consists of odd sizes that did
      not conform to their sizes.

      7.(U) Lesson Learned: None.

      8.(U) Recommended Action: The Army Chemical and Munition Command
      should discontinue size tariff and fill requisitions as they are
      received.
