As you review your ORPY, please look for the following items and if
they are missing take corrective action by submitting copies to
TAPC-)ISR-S:
DA Po= 61 (Application for Appointment)
DA Form 71 (Oaib of Office)
BP So (initial Report of Medical Examination)
orders (Active dutys awardst promotion)
OERs/AERs (Must be originals) (Please note - OERs/AERs take
approximately 90-120 days to process.
These are important in career management decisions and for service
computation. Update of the ompf is triggered by submission of an
OER/AER. All other documents are held until an evaluation report
is received. At such time, all documents being held and the
evaluation report are added to the OEPP. Where selection boards
are concerned, photos will be seen in hard copy, along with any
documents such as OERs/AERs that have not yet been filmed on the
OMPF due to time constraints.
Xiorof iche records are in three parts-Perfo=&noe (P) I Service (S).,
and Restricted (R) . Briefly, the contents/utilization of these
parts are as follows:
P-Evaluation reports, awards, decorations, letters of
oo=endation/approciation, Article 15, Court Martial, Ltrs of
Reprimand, denied ORR Appeal notification ltr. Use-Selection
boards, career managers, Army Board for Correction of Military
Records (ABCHR), other personnel.
S-Accession package, promotion orders, extension of service
agreement, RA appointment, and other data required for service
computation. use-career managers, ABCMR, service computation... NOT
normally seen by Selection Boards, but authorized.
R-Denied OER Appeal correspondence, Court Martial with no
findings of guilty, wholly set aside Article 15, ABCKR case
documents etc. Use-individual concerned, ABCKR. Not released to
selection boards or other agencies without Permission of DCBPER or
on written request from individual concerned.
To reduce clutter and duplication in the OMPF, some of the more
routine types of documents not authorized for file include:
Letters of appreciation/commendation will only be filed when
the basic letter is signed by an individual, as referred to in
interium change No. 101, AR 690-10, dated 15 Jan 90.
