Subj: LETTER OF INSTRUCTION FOR ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE
OF CHEMICAL DEFENSE DECONTAMINATION AND MONITOR AND
SURVEY TEAMS
from units in the Al Jubayl port complex, when required.
Establishment of M/S team capability is still required.
(2) CO, HOSVC Group
(a) Integrate NBC defense teams within the Al
Jubayl Port complex with the local security plan for this
critical facility.
(b) Provide decontamination and M/S teams for
operations in the HOSVC Group area in accordance with the
matrix attached as enclosure (1).
(3) CO, Engineer Support Detachment. Provide
decontamination and M/S teams for operation in the Engineer
Support detachment area in accordance with enclosure (1).
Coordinate your efforts with those of I MEF to provide mutual
support if required.
(4) CO, Supply Detachment. Coordinate the
establishment of decontamination and M/S teams for units
located in the Supply detachment area in accordance with
enclosure (1). These units include BSO-1 and DSO-1
Headquarters elements. Because of their relative proximity,
RAOC should participate in this area if participation is
desired.
(5) CO, LandinQ Support Detachment. Coordinate the
establishment of decontamination and M/S teams for Landing
Support detachment and ORF personnel within your area in
accordance with enclosure (1).
(6) CO, Motor Transport Detachment. Establish
decontamination and M/S teams for units in the Motor Transport
detachment area in accordance with enclosure (1).
(7) CO, Maintenance Detachment. Coordinate the
econtamination and M/S teams in your area in
accordance with enclosure (1). Members of the Patriot battery
are invited to participate if desired.
(8) CO, USMC Field Hospital
(a) Establish decontamination and M/S teams in
your area in accordance with enclosure (1).
(b) Ensure training in handling chemical
casualties is incorporated into your daily training schedule.
