                         1540--2D   Tank Bn through 2nd breach. Tiger BDE moving
              forward. 2/12 going through 2nd breach to support attack on MEF
              Objective A. 2D MarDiv will commence attack once artillery is
              set up.    B-52 strike occurred at 1500C in support of USMARCENT.
              JFC-N in the attack; crossed LD. JFC-E reports in excess of 1000
              EPW.
                         1645-French have taken over 1000 EPW.

                    a.   W) N-2 briefed: Iraqi ability to coordinate forces is
              almost non existant; two Silkworms fired from vicinity of Kuwait
              City, one shot down by Brits, other impacted water; target was
              USS Missouri; two Iraqi M-23's flew to Iran; 10 Hips observed
              vicinity of suspected CW storage site; 516 oil well fires
              burning in Kuwait.

                    b.   " operations: LtCol Blackman and LTC White (USA)
              briefed USMARCENT and USARCENT G-Day operations, respectively.
              Conducted amphibious demonstration vicinity of Ash Shuaybah
              using Fleet Deception Group, NGFS, and helicopters. Based on
              intelligence and enemy troop movements, the demonstration proved
              very successful.

                    0. fQ4 USCINCCENT approved establishment of eastern Link
              11 (TADIL A), resulting in a more timely air picture for the
              fleet.

                    d.       USNAVCENT Issues of the day: Silkworms and
              tanker support for CAP manning.

                    e. t" VAdm Arthur directs continuation of amphibious
              deception operations and to convince CINCCENT to allow
              repositioning USS Wisconsin further north.

                    f.   " Special chronology notes with respect to USMARCENT
              ground offensive:

                         0438--JOC update: fairly quiet night; nothing
              significant with respect to ground action to report. Forces
              were consolidated in positions. Equipment losses have been
              light. Casualty recap: lst MarDiv has three KIA and nine WIA.
              2D MarDiv has one KIA and 3 WIA. Present laydown:
