          17 - First Christmas tree raising is conducted for the Chapel
               service.

          17 - First wall to wall inventory was completed, total medical
               line item inventory at 1380 and non-medical items at 620.
               Overall inventory is 2,000 line items, increasing         by
               160 items.

          18 - SeaBees designed and constructed a stage in the Morale,
               Welfare and Recreation area to be used for various forms of
               entertainment for the staff.

          19 - Received operation microscope and accessory instruments from
               the British Amy hospital.

          19 - Rear Admiral Koeneman, Chief of Chaplains, and Capt. Krabbe,
               Chaplain to the Marine Corps, visited F115.

          20 - The FH5 post office was relocated to a permanent sea-hut
               structure thus increasing the efficiency of postal service.

          20 - Rear Admiral Miller, SC, Vice Commander, Naval Supply
               Systems Command, visited FH5.

          21 - Scullery machine is installed in the galley. Problems were
               encountered due to electrical incompatibility.

          23 - Actors Gerald McRaney and Delta Burke visited patients and
               staff at FH5.

          23 - First command Christmas caroling is conducted.

          24 - First Christmas Eve/Cantata service is conducted, in
               addition to first Christmas Eve midnight Catholic mass.

          24 - Received Howmedica External Fixator devices.

          25 - First Christmas day service and Christmas day Catholic mass
               are conducted. A special Christmas day meal was prepared by
               for the staff and patients.

          25 - The FH5 female football team defeated the Army female team,
               24 to 8, in the Scud Bowl.

          25 - Johnny Grant, the Mayor of Hollywood, visited FH5.

          30 - Ward 11 was established as an isolation ward to care for an
               outbreak of chicken pox among the staff.
